Scouts BSA Speciality Camps
This summer we are offering 3 different specialty camps that are perfect for individual Scouts to attend. This is a great opportunity for a second week of camp, and if your troop is attending summer camp at Camp Somers or Winnebago you might qualify for additional incentives!
- Trades & Skills Specialty Camp – This specialty week at Camp Winnebago, taught by professionals, will focus on teaching skills for home improvement projects. Carpentry, plumbing and electricity are included. This is a skill-based week and the group will work on a building project. Week 4: July 28-August 3. This week will include fishing at camp, a deep-sea fishing field trip, tour of the Pequest Trout Hatchery with trout fishing, and more. Resident campers (Provisional and Scouts camping with their troop) are welcome to enroll in this specialty week. Week 3: July 21-27. Register Here: https://scoutingevent.com/358-CampSomers
- Film and Art Camp – Earn the Moviemaking, Animation, Art, and Photography merit badges! Spend the week learning about a variety of film and art, and make a movie with Peter Basler. Resident campers (Provisional and Scouts camping with their troop) are welcome to enroll in this specialty week. Week 4: July 28-August 3. Register Here: https://scoutingevent.com/358-CampSomers
We also have a great opportunity with Trail Blazer Camp. Trailblazer Day Camp is a weeklong adventure geared toward first-year Scouts BSA moving up from Webelos. Older Scouts are also welcome. All Scouts are placed in patrols with experienced Scouts.
Have fun in all of the camp program areas. You may also work on Tenderfoot to First Class rank requirements, and outdoor skills.
