Be Prepared! 2023-2024 Scouting Calendar – Now Available

That is not just our motto, it is our way of life in the Scout world.

The 2023-2024 Scouting calendar was released at the March 4th Program Launch. You now can see all events happening in the council and all the districts until the end of 2024. We do add items to the calendar and sometimes events do get changed, so we recommend checking back often for the latest up to date information.

If you want to know when your Scouts, BSA Camporee will be in May of 2024, you will see that we have the save the date notice there. Looking for the date for the Jersey 360 Council Camporee, that is on there as well. The camping reservation system is also open!

May 19-21, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers

Registration is now open for the 2023 Skylands District Spring Cub Family Camporee scheduled for the weekend of May 19-21, at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers.  Rally your families now to attend this fun filled weekend family campout. Our theme will be “Stem Under the Stars”, with STEM activities throughout the day on Saturday.  Bring the whole family!

Skylands District 2023 Scouts BSA Spring Camporee- ‘Scout Skills Adventure Challenge”

SAVE THE DATE!!  Registration is now open for the 2023 Skylands District Scouts BSA Spring Camporee. This year’s event is the Great Scout Skills Adventure Challenge!  Join us for a unique adventure race that is best described as Scouts BSA meets Amazing Race.  Put the skills you have learned over the years to use in a unique and creative way!  These challenges will require you to work as a team.  Some challenges will be straightforward; others may require strategy and teamwork to complete.

1st Annual Pioneer Pinewood Derby

The 1st Annual Pioneer Pinewood Derby took place Saturday, March 18th at The Presbyterian Church, Westfield.

About 60 Cub Scouts and siblings raced to the finish line with their handmade pinewood derby cars.

 

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped put on an amazing event.

Join Us at the 2023 Patriots’ Path Council Awards Celebration

We will be presenting the 2023 SILVER BEAVER AWARDS at the PPC Awards Celebration on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Winnebago Scout Reservation. We will also be presenting the SILVER ANTELOPE AWARD, TRAILBLAZER AWARDS, YOUTH LEADERSHIP AWARDS, VENTURING LEADERSHIP AWARDS, and COUNCIL ALUMNUS OF THE YEAR AWARD.  Please plan to come out and honor these dedicated volunteers and youth leaders!

The celebration will be held in the dining hall, with a gathering at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon and awards ceremony will be at 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited and registration is required. You can register on-line HERE. RSVP deadline is May 1, 2023.

Cub Scouts

Cub Position-Specific Training – a-half day course designed to highlight the Cub Scouting program broken down into sessions to best match your registered position in the pack.

BALOO Training – a one-and-a-half day overnight course designed as an introduction to the Cub Scout outdoor program for leaders interested in adding a camping component to pack activities.  BALOO training consists of an online pre-requisite component in addition to an overnight hands-on practical.

Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Position-Specific Training – a-full day course designed to highlight the Scouts BSA program broken down into high level modules.

Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills – a one-and-a-half day overnight course designed to help prepare leaders for an outdoor program in addition to learning teaching techniques on advancement.

Supplemental Training

CPR Training – is a few-hour-long evening program run with the ESCI standards with a hands-on component.  This course is recognized as a pre-requisite to Wilderness First Aid.  There is no specific minimum age requirement but all participants will need to pass a hands-on practical to receive certification.  This is a great opportunity for kids starting in Webelos and up.  Click here for more information and to register for CPR Training.

 

Wilderness First Aid – is a weekend-long program run with the ESCI standards with a hands-on component.  This course is recognized by NCAP Standards where access to medical services is limited.  The minimum age requirement is 14.  Click here for more information and to register for Wilderness First Aid Training.

 

ServSafe Food Manager Training – is a several-day program to be certified in running a kitchen that conforms with NCAP and state standards.  Registration coming soon!

 

Wood Badge – is an advanced leadership training that teaches the latest in leadership theory and team development.  Save the date to attend both weekends September 8-10, 2023, and October 14-15, 2023.  Completion of basic leader training for your position is a prerequisite to attending.  Check out the current flyer.  Register now.

High Adventure Interest Form

Are you interested in attending a high adventure camp either as an individual or together as a unit?  Please fill out the interest form and we will contact you as openings become available or during the council contingent planning stages.
