Join us for the upcoming Cub Scouts Family Camping event in the Raritan Valley district, from May 31 to June 2 at the Winnebago Scout Reservation. This year’s theme is Outer Space, and we guarantee a cosmic journey filled with thrilling activities that will leave you in awe.

Explore and imagine a vast expanse of space through exciting activities that will test your marksmanship skills with BBs and Archery, challenge your creativity with rocket building, and marvel at the wonders of the night sky. Whether you’re an aspiring astronaut or a space enthusiast, there’s something for everyone.

This weekend camping event is not just a chance to bond with your fellow Scouts and their families, but also an opportunity to learn and create unforgettable memories. So, pack your bags and join us under the stars for an adventure that’s truly out of this world!

Scouts BSA

Come and join us for an exciting adventure at Camp Wheeler, located in the heart of Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation. On May 10-12, Scouts BSA from the Raritan Valley district will gather for a thrilling event.

Get ready to embark on a dynamic competition where pairs of Scouts will traverse through the scenic landscapes of the camp and put their skills and abilities to the test. From mastering pioneering techniques to honing wilderness survival skills, this event promises an unforgettable journey of exploration and camaraderie.

Don’t miss the chance to challenge yourself and create lasting memories amidst the beauty of nature.

USA Archery Level l Instructor Course

On May 5th, Instructor candidates will learn to operate a safe yet fun archery range. The course will cover range setup and safety, proper equipment, aspects of good shooting form, and methods of teaching.  Previous archery experience is not required.

Skylands 2024 Cub & Scouts BSA Camporees

Skylands District 2024 Spring Cub Family Camporee

May 17-19, Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers

Registration is open for the 2024 Skylands District Spring Cub Family Camporee scheduled for the weekend of May 17-19, at Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation, Camp Somers. Rally your families now to attend this fun-filled weekend family campout. Our theme will be “A Stroll Through Skylands,” with activity stations focusing on the many historic, cultural, and natural attractions found throughout our district. Bring the whole family!

Registration fee is $20 per person. Dinner option available Saturday night at additional $10 per person.

2024 Skylands District Scouts BSA Spring Camporee

April 26-28 at Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation.

Adventure Challenge 2.0       You asked for it, you got it!

This will be similar to last year’s adventure with obstacle course challenges, but with more challenges and some new events!  Join us for a weekend full of fun and adventure.

Fishawack 2024 Pirate Cub Camporee

Fishawack Spring Cub Camporee will be held May 18th-19th at Winnebago Scout Reservation.

Stations— we expect to include bb, archery, fishing, Cubmobile, Raingutter Regatta, obstacle course, bottle rockets, chess, and rock painting. One person from each pack should get a headcount and register everyone.

Folks can camp or come for the day. Packs that are camping will need a BALOO trained leader. Fee is $20 per Cub, adult, and Sibling. Siblings 5 and Under are free.

There will be an option to have dinner in the camp dining hall for $10 per person or cook for yourself in your campsite.

Fishing Specialty Camp

This summer at Camp Somers we will be offering a weeklong resident camp program where fishing is the focus for the entire week. This program is perfect for your Scouts that love to fish or Scouts that would love to learn more about fishing! During this week participants will earn 3 merit badges, Fishing, Fly Fishing and Fish and Wildlife Management. Participants will also become Certified Angling Instructors. In addition to fishing around Camp Somers participants will also go on field trips to visit a fish hatchery, fish along rivers and even a chartered sea fishing trip.

Dates: Camp Somers Week 3 July 21st to the 27th 2024
